Beef Tallow: Nature's Forgotten Secret
Tallow is Nature’s Forgotten Secret, a time-honored treasure overlooked in a world of synthetic imitations. Derived from pure beef fat, this nutrient-rich marvel has been a staple for skin nourishment and cooking excellence for centuries, yet modern junk has eclipsed its unmatched benefits—hydrating soaps, healing salves, and healthier fats that outshine processed oils. Rediscover its power with Cross O Tallow, where every jar of salve, bar of soap, and scoop of cooking tallow delivers nature’s purest essence. Elevate your routine today—shop now and reclaim the natural goodness synthetic brands can’t replicate
Soap-The Way It Was Meant to Be
Cross O Tallow soap harnesses nature’s power to cleanse and nourish your skin, leaving it soft and hydrated without harsh chemicals. Store-bought soaps, often packed with synthetic detergents like sodium lauryl sulfate, strip your skin’s natural oils, leading to dryness and irritation—studies show up to 60% of users experience sensitivity from these additives (Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology, 2019). Tallow’s rich, fatty acids mimic your skin’s own lipids, restoring balance where commercial junk disrupts it. Choose tallow soap for a gentle, effective clean that synthetic formulas can’t touch
Cross O Cooking Tallow delivers rich, unmatched flavor while fueling your body with pure, natural goodness. Unlike seed oils—loaded with inflammatory omega-6 fatty acids, linked to a 62% higher risk of heart disease (per a 2018 American Journal of Clinical Nutrition study)—tallow’s stable, saturated fats stand up to heat without breaking down into harmful compounds. Ditch the processed junk that clogs arteries and dulls taste; embrace tallow’s bold, wholesome edge for meals that satisfy and nourish.

FAQs
Quick Answers to Your Tallow Questions!
What is tallow?
Tallow is carefully rendered and purified beef fat that is packed with nutrients to elevate your cooking and skin care.
Why should I use tallow instead of cooking oils?
Tallow offers stable heat cooking and nutrient richness, unlike many seed oils that can degrade and introduce unhealthy compounds.
Is the same tallow used for cooking as for soaps and salves?
Yes. Cooking tallow is meant to have a beefy flavor and skincare products aren't! (Nobody wants to walk around smelling like roast beef). Our cooking tallow is fat used from the majority of the beef.
For our skincare products, we use only kidney fat which doesn't have the scent like normal tallow. This allows us to have great smelling soaps and salves while still maintaining the natural benefits of tallow.
How should I store my tallow?
For the tallow soaps and salves, they can be stored just about anywhere provided they aren't in high temperatures.
Cooking tallow is shelf-stable but should be stored in a cool, dry place. Most times it won't last long enough to have any problems but just in case, we recommend storing it the same way that you would butter.
What can I cook with tallow?
Simple answer? Anything! It can be used for frying, deep frying, roasting vegetables, pie crusts, searing steaks and the list goes on and on! One of our favorite ways to use tallow is smash burgers on the grill. (Of course using it with any cut from Cross O Meats is highly recommended)
What makes Cross O Tallow different from everyone else out there?
Let's face it: there are a lot of people out there trying to sell tallow. In one hand, it's great to see the market growing. On the other hand, many of them have no idea where the beef fat came from that they are rendering. We do. We ONLY use our beef as well as a few local partners to ensure that our tallow is all 100% American raised beef without any growth hormones or GMO feed!
